Weekend Recap

Happy Tuesday friends! I hope y'all had a good weekend! We thoroughly enjoyed our three day weekend, and weren't quite ready to go back to school today. It's been a while since I've posted a weekend recap, but it's something I'm going to try to get back to doing weekly. I've been doing my best to stay off my phone and social media on the weekends so that I can just enjoy that time with Kadyn and Chase. I did manage to snap a few pictures of our weekend though. I know one day I will look back at these types of posts and be thankful that I have them to help me remember these moments with my boys.

Friday afternoon I came home and spent some time cleaning, and then spent the rest of the evening snuggling this boy. He keeps me on my toes, but loves to snuggle mama. I snapped this picture about 10 minutes after I had get a veggie straw out of his nose (I seriously thought we were going to have to make a trip to the emergency room).

Saturday we woke up to this pretty view. Our first snow in the new house, but it melted way too quickly.

We spent most of our morning in the playroom playing.

And soaked up all the snuggles. He crawled up beside me and wanted me to snuggle him while we napped. My sister-in-law and brother-in-law came to visit for a little bit and he slept the whole time.

Saturday evening we decided to get out of the house for a bit and made a quick Target run. We needed to get a few necessities and I wanted to look at home décor. We picked up Wing Stop for dinner and took it home to eat. Kadyn fell asleep on the couch and we spent the rest of our night watching The Following (it's really good if you've never seen it).

Sunday morning we got ready and headed to church. We've only been once since Covid hit last March, so we were excited to be back.

After church we stopped at Corner Bakery for lunch. Kadyn had bacon, eggs, and fruit and he ate almost every bite.

And then we ran to Sams to browse and grab a few things. We found some Orange Chicken that we were excited to try (we love Trader Joe's Orange Chicken, but it's over an hour away). We made it for dinner on Sunday night and we all loved it. It is very similar to TJ's.

We've been trying to get a home project done each weekend. Last weekend we painted the shiplap in Kadyn's bathroom and hung his mirrors up. On Sunday afternoon we finally got around to adding hooks to our mudroom cubbies.

It's crazy the difference it makes!

Monday morning this cutie slept in until almost 9, which means mama and daddy got to enjoy their coffee in the peace and quiet. The first thing Kadyn does every single morning when he gets up is run to the pantry and ask for a bowl, so veggie straws and milk before breakfast it was.

Monday afternoon we went and picked out our logs for our fireplace, had Mexican for lunch, and then attempted to pick out some blinds. I've had the hardest time finding reasonably priced roman shades that will fit our double windows. I finally found some at Home Depot online and ordered them. I'm excited to see how they look once we get them up.

How many tries do y'all think it took for me to get him to sit still for this picture? He is ALWAYS on the move. I had to bribe him with  a veggie straw, and he still isn't looking at the camera, but at least he isn't trying to escape from my arms. haha

We ordered our dining table in early December and it finally got delivered yesterday afternoon. It worked out perfect since Chase and I were both off yesterday. We ordered it from World Market and the quality is SO good. It was fairly easy to put together and it's very heavy/sturdy. Now I just need to order a couple of dining chairs and it will be finished.

It was pretty late in the evening once we finally got both the table and bench put together so the rest of the night was spent prepping for Tuesday morning (bathing Kadyn, getting his daycare bag and my school bag ready, prepping lunches, etc.).

I hope you all have a great Tuesday!
