Life Lately

Happy Monday y'all! Today is the first Monday of my summer break and I have to say it felt pretty darn good not having to get up at 4:30 this morning. We got out of school so much later than usual this year due to all the snow days we had back in January. It's crazy to think that we're already almost two weeks into June. I kind of got behind on blogging during the month of May because with all of the end of year fun going on at school I just didn't have as much time to devote to my blog.
Since it's been so long since y'all have heard from me I figured it would be the perfect time for a "Life Lately" post. I want to get back into the habit of doing more "life" related posts. I love posting about my fashion finds, but I started my blog as a way for me to document what is happening in our daily lives, and those are the kind of posts that I love to look back on. I still plan on sharing all of my cute outfit finds with y'all, but there is going to be a little more of our daily randomness mixed in too.
Here's a little look at Life Lately...

The month of May started out with a girls night with my best friend. Shopping, manicures, and froyo is the best kind of girls night.

Almost all of my Saturdays in May started out like this. I've been trying so hard to make it to the gym at least 4 days a week and have only gotten off track one week. Believe it or not, I have actually started looking forward to going to the gym and feel SO much better. I still haven't given up my Starbucks and Chick-fil-A runs though. ;)

My "baby" brother graduated from high school on May 19th. I couldn't be more proud to be his big sister, and can't wait to see what the future holds for him. We had the best time celebrating his graduation with a cookout and pool party with the whole fam.
Our school had field day the Friday before Memorial Day weekend and it was such a fun day with my kiddos. Field day was always my favorite day of the year as a student and I loved getting to participate in all the activities for my sweet students this year.
We spend our Memorial Day weekend on the lake, and I'm hoping this is what most of our weekends look like this summer.
We also had our first trip of the season to Pelicans, but have since been multiple times. There's just something about a Pelican's snow cone that makes it "feel" like summer.
I've been soaking up all of the cuddles with my sweet pup. We decided to bring him inside back in December, and it has been the best decision. He is my little sidekick while Chase is at work during the week.
My students' had their last day of school on June 1st, and one of my sweet kids surprised me with this sign. I'm a HUGE Harry Potter fan and spent the last few weeks of school reading the first book in the series to my students and was so excited that some of them loved it just as much as me. This sweet gift definitely made me smile on the last day. I got so attached to my students and am already missing them so much. I'm thankful for sweet gifts like this that I will always have to help remind me of this school year.
I spent last Monday and Tuesday packing up my classroom, and it was so bittersweet. I accepted my DREAM job a few weeks ago and am so excited and thankful to be coming "home" to teach at the school I've wanted to teach at since I was a little girl, but realizing that I'll never see most of my sweet students from this year again definitely brought on a few tears.
I've spent my first few days of summer soaking up my time off.  I'm so excited to be able to spend more time with Chase these next few weeks. Since we are on opposite schedules I don't get to see him much throughout the school year. I'm looking forward to days spent by the pool, time with friends, Pelicans snow cone runs, lake days, and going back to 30A for vacay in a few weeks.
That's all I have for now...
Hope y'all have the BEST day!
