Weekend Recap

Happy Tuesday y'all! I hope y'all had a great Memorial Day weekend! I'm heading back to work today and I'm oh so happy that this is our last week of school before summer break. After the fun weekend we had, it officially feels like summer and it feels so weird to be going back to work. We would have been out a few weeks ago, but are having to make up all of the snow days that we had this past winter so it has kind of felt like we are never going to get out. While I'm going to miss my sweet students, I know that they are just as ready as I am for summer break to begin.

With the craziness of the end of the school year, I haven't had the extra time to spend working on my blog. I'm hoping I can get back to doing a few posts a week once summer break starts.

Here's a little recap of our  Memorial Day weekend...

Saturday we had our first "Lake Day" of the summer. I'm hoping that this is what our weekends look like all summer long.

Did you really go to the lake if you didn't stop by the marina for ice cream?

After we left the lake Saturday evening, we met up with my SIL and her husband for a little Mexican food...

Followed by a little Pelican's shaved ice. This was our first trip to Pelican's this year and it was even better than we remembered. One of my FAVORITE summer treats.

Sunday morning we went on our usual Starbucks run before church, and then picked up a few groceries afterwards.

Sunday afternoon we headed to my aunt's house for a cookout with family. I love weekends spent with family & my favorite guy.

My sister and I played a little corn-hole with our boys.

And we loaded up on all the carbs...

Monday morning Chase and I headed to the gym. I had been doing a good job of staying on track with my workouts, but was so busy last week that I didn't make it to the gym once. Needless to say after a week long break and all of the junk I ate over the weekend, the gym was a struggle. I rewarded myself afterwards with a little Starbucks. ;)

We went to Lowe's to pick up some plants so that we could do a little landscaping.

We stopped at Qdoba for lunch. Their taco salad is SO good y'all!

And then we headed home to do some landscaping. Chase did the hard work in our flower beds, and I planted some flowers in my cute little flower pots & hanging baskets.

We finished up planting just before the rain rolled in, and spent the rest of the afternoon inside.

An afternoon thunderstorm was the perfect excuse to do a little reading and enjoy the rest of my Starbucks.

I also soaked up alllllll the cuddles with my sweet Sam.

The rest of my Monday was spent meal prepping for the week, and watching the Bachelorette premiere.

I hope y'all have the BEST week!
xoxo

  2. The ice cream and snow-cone are remind me of summer days! We got out of school last week, so it was super nice to not have to get up the motivation to go back today.

    1. It’s so hard to find the motivation to get up when it’s already summer in your mind. 😉 I’m thankful that summer is officially here!
