What We've Been Up To

Happy Tuesday y'all! I'm heading back to school today after a much needed 3-day weekend. Last week was such a fun/busy week filled with our school's annual trick-or-treating night, class Halloween parties, club day for students, and then the aftermath of all the excitement from the beginning of the week. This teacher was WORN out after all the craziness from last week. Needless to say, a 3-day weekend couldn't have come at a more perfect time. It's crazy how an extra day off makes such a HUGE difference. I'm ready to take on this 4-day work week.

Here's a little look at what we've been up to lately...

Last Sunday Chase and I were in our friends' wedding. Unfortunately the only pictures I have are the ones that my MIL took that night.

We took advantage of the photo booth. ;)

Monday night our school hosted its annual Roar-O-Ween, the event is similar to a Fall Festival, except teachers stand in the hallways and hand out candy while students trick-or-treat, and students can go to the library and gym for bounce houses and games. My team and I had so much fun dressing up as "Social Butterflies."

I "stole" the next few pictures from my cousin and sister's snapchat stories Friday night...
Friday evening my sister and I headed to the Glow Green 5K for Kidney Disease Awareness, where we met my cousin, grandmother, and aunt. This entire event was put on for my Aunt who just underwent a kidney transplant a few weeks ago. We are SO thankful that they were able to find a donor for her.

I was thankful to have my sweet sister as my partner for my first 5K.

My aunt wasn't able to take part in the 5K since she's still recovering from her transplant, but she stuck around to see everyone pass through the finish line.

Saturday my SIL and I headed to TN to do a little shopping at the Red River Farms Fall Barn Sale. I didn't get any pictures, but we had the BEST time and spent way too much. When I got home Saturday afternoon I napped and then literally spent the rest of the night finishing up a book. Once I started reading I just couldn't put it down.

This was my view Sunday morning on our way to church. One of my absolute favorite parts of fall. The leaves were gorgeous, the picture really doesn't do them justice.

And then when we stopped by Starbucks before church, I got a little too excited about my Christmas Cup. It took everything I had in me not to come home and put my tree up on Sunday night. It WILL be going up next weekend though. ;)

We had a little brunch at one of our favorite spots. I came home and napped, and we spent the rest of our Sunday watching Chicago Fire. Y'all we are OBSESSED with this show. I have to admit that it felt pretty darn good going to bed Sunday night and not having to set my alarm.

I slept in a a little on Monday morning, and ended up getting up around the time Chase left for work. Monday was gloomy and cold so I spent the day cuddled up on the couch catching up on some of my shows. I did a little laundry, got dinner started in the slow-cooker, napped, and started a new book. It was a pretty perfect day.

I'm super thankful for a slow weekend, full of rest. Maybe even a little too much rest, considering I napped every.single.day. I'm not even ashamed. ;)

  1. I'm itching to put up our tree too; however, my husband says not until the day after Thanksgiving! Bummer!!!
