Life Lately

Hey y'all! Happy Thursday! We had an extra long weekend - Chase was off Friday and just went back to work yesterday, and I finished up my last day of school on Friday so I'm officially on Summer Break. I've had this week off, but I start volunteering at our school's summer program on Monday. It lasts the entire month of June, but most days will just be half days and we have some fun field trips planned for the kids so I'm not dreading it too bad. We still have a lot of summer fun planned for June and I'll have July off to get in some much needed relaxation. ;)
Here's a little look at life lately..
I started my summer off Friday afternoon by hitting the gym with my mom, and having a late lunch at one of my favorite places.
It rained most of the morning Saturday so I made breakfast and we spent some time inside watching Chicago PD. It cleared up Saturday afternoon and we headed to the lake with some of Chase's family. We stopped at the marina so this sweet girl and I could get some ice cream.

We left the lake just in time because as soon as we got home Saturday evening we had some pretty severe storms. Once the storms passed we ended up going to get dinner at a little restaurant down the road with Chase's cousins.
Sunday consisted of church, lunch at our favorite Mexican Restaurant, and running a few errands.

Sunday evening Chase's mom came over and I cooked burgers, veggies, and homemade French fries for dinner. We spent the rest of the evening on our front porch enjoying the nice weather. The sunset was so pretty from our front porch.

Monday morning started with breakfast, coffee, and Chicago PD.

Late Monday morning we headed to the lake with Chase's dad. After two lake days over the weekend, it officially feels like summer is here. :)

We left the lake late Monday afternoon and went to a flower nursery nearby to grab some flowers to plant in our flower beds. I picked up some pots to put on the front porch too. We spent the rest of the day working on our landscaping.

Tuesday Chase spent some time at his dads and I spent some time cleaning up around the house. That afternoon I tried an orange chicken recipe I found on Pinterest and it turned out so good. We spent the rest of the night watching Chicago PD of course.

Later Wednesday morning I hit the gym with my mom.

We had Panera for lunch and then I went with my mom to her hair appointment.

After her appointment, we went on a target run. I can never go into target without buying something. Chase had been talking about wanting a boot tray so I picked one up there. I also got the cutest basket to use for towel storage, and a new swimsuit top. ;)

Wednesday night I made Shay's BBQ Pineapple Baked Chicken Tacos, and they were SO good y'all. Chase isn't a fan of fruit so I didn't tell him about the pineapple and he loved them. I will definitely be making these again very soon!

I'll be back tomorrow sharing my Friday Favorites!

  1. What a gorgeous sunset!! That salad looks delicious and Target is so tempting!!! Enjoy your last couple days of freedom until July!! :)

  2. You have been having some fun lately! That ice cream looks delicious and makes me want some right now. Love how much time you've been getting at the lake. Sounds lovely! And I was wondering how the pineapple would be in those tacos. That was the part that scared me away from them a bit! Sounds like I should give them a try, though!
