What's Up Wednesday

Happy Wednesday y'all! Today is the last Wednesday of the month, which means I'm linking up with Shay for What's Up Wednesday.

Like usual, we're answering these questions...
Let me just start by saying.. How is it possible that June is almost over?! This month has gone by SO fast. Thankfully, this is my last week of summer school and then I'll have about four weeks left to really enjoy some time off this summer before school starts back in August.

Over the weekend we went to a friend's wedding and had some awesome BBQ.

And on Sunday after church we stopped by my FAVORITE café for lunch and I had the Caprese Pizza and it was delicious.

I also made these Mexican Stuffed Shells recently and they were a hit!

We celebrated our 1 year anniversary on June 18th and I've been reminiscing about our wedding day all month long.

Reminiscing back on our wedding day has me also reminiscing on our honeymoon. We LOVE 30A.  I need a beach trip in the near future!

I've been getting up early enough in the mornings to watch the sun rise and I LOVE seeing this pretty view.

And I know y'all are probably getting tired of my sunset pictures, but I've been loving watching the sunset in the evenings as well.

We've been making the most of our summer here lately..
We visited gorgeous Cummins Falls a few weeks ago.

Celebrated our Anniversary in Nashville.

And had the best time this past weekend with my BIL and SIL at one of our friend's weddings. Chase and his brother were both groomsmen so my sister-in-law and I had a pool day, got ready together, and hung out a the wedding until the boys were free. ;)

Nothing at the moment.

I've spent my summer working at our schools' summer program. We've taken weekly field trips, learned all about maps and traveling, taken walks around town, and had rainy popcorn and movie days. It's been a great experience, but I am READY to get to enjoy the last few weeks of summer.

The end of summer school! After this week I will officially be starting my summer. I plan on sleeping in, spending my days by the pool, and possibly a short girls trip.

I've been eating lunch and watching Fixer Upper on the afternoons when I only work half a day of summer school. Watching the newest season has me dying to go back to Waco ASAP.

Summertime always puts me in a 90s music kinda mood. Summer Hits of the 90s has been my go-to Pandora station here lately.

I'm loving the off the shoulder/cold shoulder trend this summer.
This top is so cute paired with white jeans..

or shorts..

I wore this dress to a wedding over the weekend and again to church on Sunday and got so many compliments. I'm 5'2 and can rarely find a maxi dress that isn't way too long on me so I was pumped when I found this one and it was the perfect length.

Both my top and dress are from Francesca's.

This weekend we're having a little 4th of July get-together at our house with some of our closest friends and we are so excited.

Finally being able to enjoy my summer.

Not much is new around here.

Last year we hosted a 4th of July party at our house with all of our closest friends, we grilled out, and then spent the rest of the evening by the fire just talking and hanging out and we're doing the exact same thing again this weekend. I'm hoping this will become our yearly tradition. ;)

Hope y'all have the best day!

Show and Tell Tuesday - Home Tour

Today I'm linking up with Andrea for Show and Tell Tuesday home tour edition. I shared a few pictures of our house around Christmas time and again this spring to show some of my Easter décor. I love seeing how others decorate their homes and I'm excited to share my home with y'all!

I've mentioned before that we live on Chase's family's farm and plan on building our dream home here within the next year or two. Since it is his family's land we can't really build until we are absolutely sure we're ready to start on our forever home. When we first got married, we bought a new trailer to put on the farm for now. We painted it, fixed it up, and made it "ours." We love our little home here on the farm.
We have an open living room and kitchen and it's definitely my favorite part of our home.
My dad made us the wooden sign with our wedding date on it to use for our engagement pictures and I love that we are now using it in our home.
I love to have candles burning all day long when I'm home and the watermelon candle on this end table smells like summer. ;)

One of my favorite areas in our living room.
Our DIY kitchen table. We chalk painted and stained this table last summer and it turned out so much better than I expected. This table was my grandmothers years ago. She gave it to my parents and they passed it down to Chase and I.

And this area in my kitchen is my FAVORITE.

The colors in our bedroom are my favorite.
The bathroom that joins with our bedroom matches it perfectly. I found our shower curtain right after we picked out our paint color and knew it was perfect.

Our guest bathroom is SMALL, but the shower curtain and rug are some favorites of mine. I ended up liking the look of this bathroom better than our bathroom.
That's it for today!
I'll be back tomorrow for What's Up Wednesday!

Life Lately

Hey y'all! Today I'm linking up with Erika for Tuesday Talk. I have seriously been slacking in the blogging department lately. I've had posts planned for the past two weeks and they just didn't happen. I'm hoping to get back on track this week. Since it's been so long, I thought I'd share a little about what's been happening with us here lately.

I started working at our schools Summer Program the first week of June, and will finish up with that at the end of next week (insert praise hands here). I've been working with Kindergarten and First grades and our class has about 22 students per day, which is a pretty big number for summer. We've been visiting the waterpark twice a week and going on weekly field trips and I am WORN OUT. Keeping up with 22 five and six year olds at the waterpark is a tough job y'all. Although I'm going to miss these sweet kiddos, I'm more than ready to enjoy the rest of my summer. ;)

We've been making the most of our summer weekends with days spent out on the lake.

And date nights in the evenings..

We love double dates with my brother and sister in law. ;)

We've spent our Sunday mornings at church, followed by our favorite Mexican restaurant (El Max) for lunch, grocery shopping, and lazy afternoons.

We love evenings spent front porch sittin'.

At summer school we've been talking all about travel, and incorporated a little lesson on the continents and oceans. Our students loved being able to make their own "oceans" last week.

Another Saturday spent with my favorite guy. We had the BEST time hiking and enjoying the waterfall at Cummins Falls State Park last weekend.

A Saturday night spent in Nashville with my bestie seeing one of our favorites in concert was just what I needed.

The concert was even better when she brought out some surprise guests, her husband, Eric Decker...

And former bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristow...

And Kaitlyn's fiancé from the show, Shawn Booth. If you're as huge of a bachelor/bachelorette fan as we are this was the best surprise.

A spontaneous Sunday afternoon shopping trip with my momma was so much fun.

And this past weekend, we celebrated our 1 year anniversary in Nashville.

I can't believe it's already been a year since I married my best friend.

That's it for today!

Our Anniversary Weekend

Yesterday Chase and I celebrated one year of marriage. How is it possible that it has already been a year?! It feels like we were JUST coming back from our honeymoon and getting settled into our new life together. This year has been full of many ups and downs, but I'm so thankful for a year spent married to my best friend and I'm excited to see what our future looks like.

If you want to see all the details from our wedding you can find that here.

We originally had plans to go to Chicago over the weekend and we were both so excited, but the forecast showed a 90 percent chance for rain pretty much all weekend so we decided it was best to reschedule. Chase's cousin has an apartment right outside of Chicago that he uses during the week for work purposes. Since he comes home on the weekends, he was nice enough to let us know we could stay in his apartment anytime we wanted on the weekends so that's where we will stay when we do go. We have a wedding to go to this weekend, but I'm hoping next weekend the weather will be nice enough for us to make the trip. :)

Since our Chicago plans didn't work out for this weekend, we decided to spend the afternoon in Nashville on Saturday.
Thankful for one year of marriage with my favorite guy. :)

We had dinner at one of our favorites, Demos'. Their steak and spaghetti is so delicious.

After dinner we headed to Opry Mills to do a little shopping.

We ended the night with a stop at Marble Slab.

And I couldn't end our anniversary post without sharing a few of our wedding pictures...

Sorry for the picture overload, but I can never pick just one!
Hope you have the best week!
