Friday Favorites

Hey y'all! Friday is finally here and I'm SO happy that the weekend is here. After traveling all weekend this past weekend, I was on the struggle bus this week. We don't have any big plans this weekend, and I'm perfectly okay with that. It's been a while since I've been able to do Friday Favorites so today I'm excited to be  linking up with Andrea, Erika, and Narci and sharing some of my favorites from here lately.

I have been doing all kinds of traveling here lately. It's definitely one of my favorite things to do and I'm already looking forward to our next trip.
I shared all the details from our Spring Break Trip to Texas a few weeks ago. You can find Part 1 here.

And last weekend I went on a girls trip to Asheville to visit the Biltmore Estate. You can read all about it here.

On Wednesday I linked up with Shay for What's Up Wednesday. I shared some of my favorite spring outfits that I've been wearing lately.

The Mint Julep Boutique has been a favorite of mine for a while now and I ordered both the tops above from there about a month ago. They have SO many cute options.

And I've finally been able to wear some of the pieces I got from the Lilly sale back in January. The bright colors in both my tops and my shorts are my favorite. They will be perfect this summer as well.

I've mentioned how much I love Halo Top before, but this birthday cake flavor is SO amazing y'all! I thought the other flavors that I had tried were good, but non of them compare to this one! It tastes just like birthday cake. :)

I got all these goodies in my Spring Fab-Fit-Fun box. My favorites were the Karuna Hydrating Face Masks , the Rosarco Milk Conditioning Spray , and the Dr. Brandt Age Defying Exfoliator. All three of those products can be found at Sephora.

Have the BEST weekend y'all!

What's Up Wednesday

Is it really only Wednesday?! This week is draggggging by so slowly and I'm so ready for the weekend to be here. Thank goodness it's not too far away. ;)
Today I'm linking up with Shay for What's Up Wednesday!
I've been trying out a lot of healthier recipes lately. Last week I made Shay's Chipotle Fish Tacos. They were delicious! I made guacamole with mine instead of the slaw she uses, and made cauliflower rice for our side.

I also tried out Shay's Salmon with Avocado Mash and it was a hit as well.
I've done a lot of traveling here lately and I've been reminiscing about both my trips ever since. I'm already ready for our next vacation.
At the beginning of April we visited Texas. You can read about our trip here and here.

And just this past weekend I went on a girls trip to Asheville, NC. We toured the Biltmore, visited the Biltmore winery, and had lots of great food. It was a weekend to remember for sure. You can read about it here.
I was in my brother-in-law's wedding a few weeks ago and their amazing photographer (Shines Photography) has been posting lots of sneak peaks. I've loved looking at all their wedding photos.
We've been so busy this month. April has consisted of lots of travel, and lots of wedding festivities. My brother-in-law's wedding was on April 8th, my sister-in-law's wedding is on May 6, and we have some friends getting married in June. Wedding season is definitely in full swing. ;)
 Nothing at the moment.
With the end of the school year approaching, I've been getting caught up on all my paperwork at school.
My sister-in-law's wedding not this weekend, but the next. :)
We started watching  13 Reasons last weekend and are hooked.
One of my goals for this year was to start reading more and I have most definitely accomplished that goal. It feels good to be reading like I used to. I've been reading a lot of romance here lately.
I found a new Pandora station to listen to during my workouts. I've loved all the songs on this Destiny's Child station.

I got both of these tops from The Mint Julep Boutique and my shoes can be found here.

I've also been wearing some Lilly here lately. I love the bright colors for spring and summer.

We don't have a whole lot planned for this weekend and with the busy month we've had, I'm perfectly fine with that. We have a wedding shower to go to on Sunday after church, but that's about it.
Next month is our last month of school. Our students' last day in on May 24, and the last day for teachers is May 30. Summer is right around the corner and I am READY.
Nothing that I can think of..

Weekend Recap-Girls Weekend in Asheville

Hey y'all! Today I'm reminiscing about the girls trip I went on this past weekend. We had such a fun time, but I am still worn out from all the traveling. I feel like I really needed a few extra days off to recoup from the weekend. I'm counting down the days until Friday and I'm thankful that we don't have anything big planned for this coming weekend.

My sister-in-law is getting married in a few weeks and instead of a bachelorette party, she wanted to do a girls weekend in Asheville, North Carolina. We had been looking forward to this trip for months and it did not disappoint.

We left bright and early Friday morning.

And arrived in Asheville around noon. Our house for the weekend was seriously the cutest. It was even cuter inside than out.

The bride-to-be and I. :)

We snapped a few pictures inside the house before heading out to tour the Biltmore House.

This house was INSANE. There was so much detail put into each room. I loved learning all about the history of the house and it's owners.

The flowers in the garden were gorgeous!

We were excited for our girls weekend!

Love these girls!

It started POURING right as we were about to leave, and we had left our umbrellas in the car. We tried to wait it out, but ended up having to buy ponchos.

We didn't let the rain get us down...we had the best Mexican food for dinner, and ended the night back at the house playing games.

Saturday morning we had breakfast at a local restaurant called Biscuit Head. We had to wait in line for about 30 minutes before going in, but it was so worth it.

After breakfast we visited the Biltmore Winery.

Love these ladies!

After leaving the Winery, we visited Asheville's Chocolate Lounge. I got coffee flavored ice cream and it was delicious.

After breakfast, wine, and our afternoon treat, we were all worn out. We came back to the house that afternoon and spent some time reading and napping before getting ready for Saturday night.
We ended Saturday with a nice dinner and night out.

We headed home Sunday morning and got home around 4:30 Sunday evening. I spent the rest of Sunday unpacking, meal-prepping for the week, and trying to fit in some relaxation. We seriously had the BEST weekend. :)

What I Wore Wednesday

Today I'm linking up with The Pleated Poppy for What I Wore Wednesday. Last week I shared all the details about our trip to Texas and today I'm sharing some of my outfit details from that trip.

After our long road trip, I just wanted to be comfy on our first night out. I got my top and jeans on sale at American Eagle.

I wore this outfit to Magnolia Market on our first full day in Waco. I absolutely love this top from The Mint Julep Boutique. I've got a lot of tops there recently and can't get enough of that place. My shoes were my favorite part of my outfit. You can find them here. They're on sale for $25 right now!

On day three I finally got to wear some of my Lilly Pulitzer picks from the Lilly sale back in January. I loved these shorts and will definitely be buying another pair soon! My top is from American Eagle a few years ago and my shoes can be found here for under $20.

And on day four...more Lilly! I got my white shorts at Old Navy last summer, you can find them here.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Weekend Recap

Happy Monday! I hope y'all had an amazing Easter weekend! We had the best weekend celebrating and are so thankful for God's many blessings. Today I'm sharing a little recap of our weekend.

This week I finish up my KTIP (our program for first year teachers here in KY). This will be a big milestone and a weight lifted off my shoulders so I'm pretty excited to be so close to finishing. This is also a four-day work week for me. I leave for a girls trip with my sister-in-law on Friday so I'm taking that day off. I hope y'all have the best week!

My weekend started with a walk in the park with my sister, and a Pop Works stop before heading home.

Saturday we got new tires on my car, spent some time shopping, and had lunch in town. We got home pretty early that afternoon and I spent some time organizing our bathroom and then napping while Chase did some work outside.

Sunday we attended Easter Service at church and then had lunch with our mommas. It was a gloomy day so we spent the rest of our Sunday napping and catching up on some of our shows.

Hope y'all a great day!!

Happy Wednesday y'all! The week is halfway over and I'm counting down the days until the weekend gets here. This first week back after Spring Break has been a struggle. Today I'm recapping Part 2 of  my Spring Break trip to Texas. You can find Part 1 here.
After leaving Waco on Monday, we headed to Houston to stay with my cousin for the rest of our time in Texas. We spent Monday evening getting settled in at their house, catching up, watching TV, and eating Pizza for dinner.

On Tuesday the girls headed out for lunch and shopping while the guys spent the day fishing. We had lunch at the Aquarium in downtown Houston and then spent some time shopping before heading back to my cousin's house. That evening we went to watch my younger cousins play softball and baseball and stopped for Mexican on the way home. Tuesday was busy and so much fun.

Wednesday we spent the day in Galveston. We definitely picked the wrong day to go to the beach. It was in the low 70s(it was  in the 90s the day before) and it was crazy windy so it felt way colder, which resulted in sand being blown everywhere. We were all wrapped up in our blankets, trying to make the most our pretty view, but ended up leaving after about 45 minutes because it was kinda miserable.
Although we didn't have the "beach day" we had planned, we made some memories that we will never forget during our short time at the beach.
Love my momma and brother. :)

After leaving the beach we headed to a local seafood restaurant for lunch. The boiled shrimp was delicious.

After lunch we headed downtown for shopping. We stopped by a candy shop and everything looked so good. I had a little self control and as bad as I wanted to, I didn't buy any candy. I did end up buying a coffee because it was so cold out.

I was trying to soak up every second of our last day out in Texas, and Keaton was ready for a nap after spending a day shopping with the girls.

After shopping, we headed back to Houston to get ready for our crawfish dinner.
My mom, brother, and I had never tried crawfish and it's a favorite for my Houston family so they insisted we have a crawfish night on our final night. I was a little skeptical about it, but it was so good and we had so much fun standing around talking and eating our crawfish.

When you're asked to "pose" with your crawfish.... ;)

We spent the rest of our night hanging out on the back patio. We seriously laughed the entire night. We got up super early on Thursday morning to head home. This trip was SO much fun and I'll forever be thankful for this time with my family.

I hope y'all have the best day!
