Weekend Recap

Happy Monday Y'all! I hope y'all had a great weekend! I say it every Monday, but our weekends always go by way too fast. I am officially counting down the weeks until our Spring Break starts. We still have 5 weeks to go, but it can't get here quick enough. I love my job, but with only a few snow days this year, both the students and teachers are in need of a much needed break. ;) Today I'm sharing a little recap of our weekend.

On Friday it was SO nice outside. I got in my car after school and saw that it was 81 degrees! Last year at this time we had just gone back to school after a weeks' worth of snow days. I was a little sad about is not getting as much snow yhisvwinter, but the warmer weather has me dreaming of Spring/Summer.

Friday evening this guy and I went out with some friends for dinner.

We woke up on Saturday morning to 20 degree temperatures and a few snow flurries.  KY weather is seriously crazy. I spent Saturday morning catching up on some of my favorite shows and reading while Chase helped a friend lay tile in his new house.

Saturday afternoon my momma and I headed to a wedding shower. It was in a gorgeous barn and everything was decorated so pretty. I left wishing I had taken some pictures.

Saturday night Chase and I went to town to get dinner and then just hung out at home after.

Sunday after church we had lunch, ran some errands, and then my grandparents came to see our home  for the first time since we've been living here. I'm so thankful they were able to come see everything.

Sunday afternoon I napped while Chase went to help his friend finish tiling his home. We ended our night with some Law & Order and I finished grading my students' math tests from Friday.

I hope y'all have a great week!

Whats Up Wednesday

Happy Hump Day! Why has this week seemed forever long?? Today I'm excited to be linking up with Shay for What's Up Wednesday.

So far this week we've eaten out every night. I've been trying to make healthier choices everywhere we've gone. But....last week I made this healthy cauliflower rice and y'all it was SO good. Chase loved it and I plan to make it again this week.

Since Spring Break is right around the corner, I've been reminiscing about our Spring Break trip to the Smokes last year. We had such a fun trip.

I've been working out with my momma and sister every Saturday morning, followed by lunch, a little shopping, and usually a Starbucks run. It has become one of my favorite parts of the week.

I haven't been up to anything new. Just enjoying doing life with this guy. ;)

Nothing at the moment.

I've still been working on eating healthy and working out. I started doing WHOLE 30 this week and I'm pretty excited about it. I'll let y'all know how it goes. :)

We're taking a short trip to Texas on Spring Break and I couldn't be more excited. We're planning to visit the Silos at Magnolia Market and I can't wait.

I can't stop watching The Bachelor. I've also been keeping up with This is Us, Grey's Anatomy, and The Challenge.

I started reading The Magnolia Story over the weekend and I can't put it down. This book is SO good. I have loved reading about Chip and Jo's story and it makes me that much more excited for our trip to Magnolia this Spring.

As usual, my two favorite Pandora stations have been on repeat here lately. I love listening to the Christian Contemporary Radio as I get ready in the mornings and I listen to the 90s, 2000s, and today while I workout.

I wore this outfit to church and a wedding shower on Sunday. I LOVE this top. My top, black jeans, and booties are all from American Eagle.

Right now we don't have any big plans. I'm hoping we have some time to just relax.

My 23rd birthday!

Hope y'all have a great day!

Weekend Recap

Happy Tuesday y'all! Today I'm sharing a little recap of our busy weekend. We were originally supposed to have a three day weekend, but our school decided to use Presidents Day as a make-up day for our snow days we had back in January. Yesterday I was on the struggle bus and couldn't stop thinking about how nice one extra day would have been. I'm officially counting down the days until our Spring Break begins. ;)
My weekend started with a girls night out with my best friend. We had Hibachi for dinner, and then hit up the mall and target for some shopping. We ended our girls night with milkshakes. It turns out a night out with my best friend was just what I needed. When I got home, Chase was still out with some of his friends so I caught up on some reading. It was the perfect Friday night.

Saturday I took absolutely NO pictures. I woke up feeling kinda yucky but decided to go ahead and go to the gym with my momma and sister as planned. I didn't have the best workout because to be honest I just wasn't feeling it. After our workout we had Panera for lunch, and then went to pick up some gifts for my brother-in-law's wedding shower the next day.

After shopping, I had to go get my bridesmaid dress altered. When I got home, Chase and I decided to have a lazy night in so we ordered Pizza and watched a movie before going to bed.

Sunday we headed to church before Tyler and Hollie's wedding shower.

Sunday afternoon we headed to my brother-in-law's wedding shower. I'm seriously so excited for this wedding. I'm thankful that Hollie and I are so close and that I get to be a part of their big day. :)

The bridesmaids.

Love this sweet Bride-to-Be.

Hope y'all have a good day!

Friday Favorites

Hey y'all! Today I'm linking up with Erika, Andrea, and Narci for Friday Favorites.

Reading is one of my FAVORITE hobbies and since I started teaching I hadn't really been making the time for it. A few weeks ago I decided that was going to change, and I've been reading during my lunch and before bed every night. I have read 3 books in the past month and started a 4th, and I'm so happy that I'm making time for it. I started The Magnolia Story yesterday and I love it so far. We're going to Texas over Spring Break and are planning to visit the Magnolia Market and this book makes me SO excited for this trip. :)

This view of the sunrise from our backyard has been a favorite every morning here lately.

On Wednesday I shared some of my favorite outfits from last weekend.

We've been having "Wellness Wednesday's" at our school once a month and we are encouraged to wear our gym clothes. This has become one of my favorite days of the month. Not much beats being asked to wear comfy gym clothes to work.
Celebrating my 10th Valentine's Day with this guy and our first as a married couple was a favorite of mine this week as well.

Hope y'all have a great weekend!

What I Wore Wednesday

Hey y'all! It's been a few weeks since I've shared some fashion on the blog. I had been slacking when it came to remembering to take pictures of my outfits, and it didn't help that my camera on my old phone had been acting crazy. Now that I've got a new phone, with a much better camera, I have been doing better! Today I'm excited to be linking up with The Pleated Poppy for What I Wore Wednesday for the very first time. I'm sharing a few of my favorite outfits from the weekend.

I wore this outfit last Friday for date night with my hubby. I've been wearing my military jacket a lot lately, I love that you can throw it on over anything to complete an outfit. You can find a similar one here. I got my grey sweater at The Mint Julep Boutique. It's sold out, but they have SO many cute options. My dark jeans and my booties are both from American Eagle.

Here I'm wearing basically the same outfit with a military vest instead of my jacket and Ralph Lauren booties that I got last year at Macy's. They're similar to these Lucky booties. I got both my vest and monogrammed necklace from Jane.

This top is from The Mint Julep Boutique as well. I love that it fits so loosely. The fit makes it super comfy. My jeans and booties are from American Eagle.

My favorite part about this sweater has to be the elbow patches! (Please excuse the mess in the background.)

This top is from Francesca's. I couldn't find it so it may be sold out, but they have some super cute options for Spring!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Weekend Recap

How is it possible that Monday is already here? Right now I'm trying to soak up the last few hours of our weekend, which has been a GREAT one. Although I'm not excited that our fun weekend is coming to an end, there is a lot that I'm looking forward to this week and even next weekend. Today I'm sharing a little recap of our weekend.

We started our Friday night off right with a trip to one of our faves. There's not much that beats chips, salsa, and Mexican food.

This was the best picture I could get of us on Friday night. I love date nights with this guy. :)

Saturday morning was rainy and we were both feeling pretty lazy. We watched Beauty & the Beast, which I hadn't watched in years. Now I'm thinking we need to take another trip to Disney world ASAP and I can't wait to go see new Beauty and the Beast movie coming out in March.

I spent the rest of my morning having some quiet time. Saturday mornings spent bible journaling are my favorite.

Saturday afternoon my mom, sister, and I went to a housewarming party and had so much fun. I love these ladies.

And of course I had to get a picture of all the good food I had at the party.

Saturday evening I went to town with my mom, brother, and my favorite guy. Our night started with me getting a new phone and I'm a little too excited about it. I had my old phone for over 3 years and it was starting to fall apart so a new phone was way overdue.

Next we headed to dinner with everyone. I love a good steak and baked potato dinner. My healthy eating kind of went out the window this weekend, but I plan to get back on track today.

Sunday we went to church, had lunch with my momma, ran some errands, and spent the rest of our day watching shows on our fire stick.

I hope y'all have a great week!

Healthy Lunch Ideas

Hey y'all! Last week I shared some healthy breakfast options and today I'm sharing some healthy lunch ideas. Here lately I've been doing a lot of meal planning. I usually make all my meals for the week on Sunday afternoon. I love how easy it makes packing my lunch through the week because all I have to do is grab it from the fridge and go.
My meal prep usually looks something like this. I just chop a ton of different veggies, mix some olive oil and seasonings in (I like Italian seasoning with a little salt and pepper), and bake on 450 degrees for about 45 minutes. I usually cover the veggies with some aluminum foil after the first 20 minutes in the oven. I usually try to make enough for Chase for the week as well.

Veggies, fish, and a little bit of brown rice... SO good.

More veggies with baked chicken, salmon, and tilapia. I usually alternate between those three meat options. I try to season with different things so that I'm not eating the exact same thing every week.

Although I've tried to meal plan as much as I can here lately, there are some Sundays when I get home from church and I'm just not feeling it. During the weeks when I don't meal plan, my lunches look something like this. Homemade guac with organic veggie and flaxseed tortilla chips, some pineapple, and a cheese stick. Sometimes I'll bring a rice crispy treat or granola bar as well to have as a little afternoon snack on days that I'm working after school.

Weekend Recap

Hey y'all! I can't believe the weekend is already over. I say it every Monday, but weekends just go by too stinkin fast! We had a nice, relaxing weekend and it was just what I needed. I'm starting to give up any hope that I had for a few more snow days. Last year we missed over two weeks of school due to snow and this year it's been in the 60s for the past month or so. KY weather is crazy. ;) Today I'm sharing a little recap of our weekend.

On Friday evening Chase had plans to go to a basketball game with some friends so I met my mom and sister at the gym. You know it's going to be a good workout when you walk in and Friends is already on.
After the gym, we went to Olive Garden for dinner and then I had to go pick up my bridesmaid dress for my sister-in-laws wedding.

Saturday morning, my mom and I hit the gym together.

After the gym we had lunch at one of our favorite places and it was SO good!

After doing a little shopping, we stopped by Riley's Bakery for some goodies. They had some of the cutest Valentine's Day treats.

Their tea cookies are THE BEST.

We stopped by Kroger on our way home to pick up a few things and couldn't leave without getting a Starbucks.

When I got home Saturday afternoon, Chase was napping (he hadn't been feeling very good) so I spent some time catching up on some reading and napping a little myself.

Saturday night I made some homemade guac and Chase and I started watching Hidden Figures on our fire stick. We got tired and ended up pausing it and heading to bed early.

Sunday morning Chase woke up still feeling pretty bad so we skipped church and had a lazy day at home. We spent the morning finishing Hidden Figures and it was SO good. The rest of our day consisted of watching Harry Potter, napping off and on, and soaking up the last few hours of the weekend.

I spent the rest of my Sunday night meal prepping for the week while watching the Super Bowl.

Have a great week!
