What's Up Wednesday

Hey y'all! Today is our LAST day before Christmas break and I couldn't be any more excited. Today I'm linking up with Shay for What's Up Wednesday. I seriously feel like it was just the end of November, and now we are only FIVE days away from Christmas. Time has just gone by so fast. I'm so excited for these next few days, but I'm not ready for this Christmas season to be over.
Anyways, today we are answering these questions...

Monday- Green Chicken Chili Enchilada Soup
Tuesday - Leftover Enchilada Soup
Wednesday - Nachos
Thursday - Spaghetti Squash
Friday- We'll eat out

I'm still reminiscing about our trip to the Smokies last month.

I can't get enough of this time of the year.

At the end of November we took a little trip to the Smokey Mountains and couldn't get enough of all of their Christmas decor.

We went on our annual trip to Opryland a few weeks ago and had the best time. This is my very favorite tradition.

The lights were just gorgeous.

We've been watching all of our favorite Christmas movies.

And spending a lot of our time inside where it's warm and cozy.

The end of the Christmas season. I love the holiday season so much and I'm always so sad when it over.

Nothing at all for the next two weeks.

Did I mention that today is our last day before Christmas break?
I found this on Pinterest and thought it was so accurate.

We are almost finished watching Chicago Fire. We've been watching the last season a little slower than usual because we just don't want it to end.

We've also been watching all the Christmas Movies.

I've been listening to this Christmas station on Pandora pretty much non-stop.

I've been slacking when it comes to taking pictures of what I'm wearing here lately. I've been wearing lots of cute vests, sweaters, scarves, and boots. I've also been spending a lot of time in comfy clothes lately too. During this time of year, I just want to stay inside where its warm and cozy.

Friday we have plans to go to dinner and go ice skating with some friends, Saturday we need to get a few last minute gifts, and Sunday our Christmas celebrations will begin.

I'm hoping that next month will consist of a few snow days. ;)

Our Annual Trip to Opryland

Happy Tuesday y'all! Tomorrow is our LAST day before Christmas break and I am SO stinkin' excited. Throwing a Christmas party for 23 third graders will wear a teacher out. :)

Last weekend we headed to Nashville for our annual trip to Opryland to look at the Christmas lights. We started this tradition while we were engaged and it's now something we look forward to every year.

Chase was excited for our trip, but not so excited about all the pictures that I wanted to take. ;)

We had dinner at The Pharmacy, which is a local restaurant in Nashville that has the absolute BEST burgers. Chase had never been, but I went this past summer and knew he'd love it. It was a huge hit.

After dinner we headed to No Baked, and it did not disappoint either. I have been following them on Instagram for a while and had been wanting to try out their cookie-dough, but was never in Nashville when they had their "pop-up" shop set up. They recently opened their store front and I was so excited to try it out.

After doing a little shopping at Opry Mills it was time to look at the lights...
Our annual picture next to the famous Opryland Christmas tree. This was the best picture we could get. It was crazy crowded so we had to be quick, and our phones kept catching a glare from the Christmas tree lights.

After our picture we spent some time walking around taking in all the lights...

They were gorgeous, as usual.

That's it for today y'all.
I'll be back tomorrow for What's Up Wednesday.

Weekend Recap

Happy Monday y'all! It's a little easier getting up this morning knowing that I only have three days until I'm officially on Christmas break. It's been a while since I've done a weekend recap, so today I thought I'd share a little look into our weekend with y'all.

Friday night we all went out for dinner for my MIL's birthday.

My Saturday started out nice and cozy. I made coffee and some breakfast and then spent my morning watching some of my favorite Christmas movies.

Of course Elf was on that list, along with Love Actually, and the Grinch.

Saturday night we grabbed a quick dinner at Freddy's, picked up some coffee at Starbucks, then spent about an hour driving around town looking at Christmas lights. I attempted to get some pictures of all the lights we saw, but had no luck.

Sunday on our way to church we realized that one of my tires was losing air pretty quick, so I went to church with my sister and her fiance while Chase took my car to get looked at. I ended up having to get a new tire put on. After church we all went to lunch, and then we came home and spent the rest of the day being lazy and watching Christmas movies.

I hope y'all have the BEST week!

Christmas Home Tour

Hey y'all! It has literally been SO long since I've been able to blog, and I'm super excited to be back today to share my Christmas Home Tour. I've had so many posts that I've planned on doing during these last few weeks, like a recap of our trip to the mountains back in November, and I just haven't had the time. Teaching has been keeping me busy, and my Masters classes have consumed most of my spare time. I just finished up my last assignment for my Masters courses and we are a little over a week away from Christmas Break at school, which can't come soon enough by the way.

I love how cozy Christmas decorations make our home feel and I am already dreading having to take them down in a few weeks. Is it acceptable to leave them up all winter long? ;)

Here's a little look inside...

That's it for today y'all. I hope you have the BEST Tuesday!

What's Up Wednesday

Hey y'all! As of yesterday afternoon, I'm officially on Thanksgiving Break, which means I'm finally getting a chance to do a little blogging. I'm so excited to spend the next few days with my family. Today I'm linking up with Shay for What's Up Wednesday, and as usual, we're answering these questions...

Monday: Chicken Parmesan
Tuesday: Pizza
Wednesday: Baked fish with veggies
Thursday, Friday, Saturday: We'll be eating wayyy too much Thanksgiving food and I couldn't be more excited.

We went on a little weekend trip to the Smoky Mountains this past weekend and had the best time. We hiked, took in the gorgeous views, shopped till we dropped, enjoyed the Christmas decor, and ate way too many pancakes for breakfast. It was pretty perfect and we were not ready to come home. ;)

I mean how gorgeous is this view from the top of the mountains?

ALL things Christmas. I love how cozy our home feels with all of our Christmas decorations out, and I can't get enough of all the Holiday scents. I love everything about this time of year.

I've been soaking up all of the long weekends I've gotten here lately. So far, I've had a 3-day weekend every weekend in November, and now a 5-day weekend for Thanksgiving. I'm not going to know what to do when I go back to a full work-week.

My Masters classes have been consuming a ton of my time, which is part of the reason that I haven't been blogging as much as I'd like to.

And like I mentioned above, we took a much needed trip last weekend.

Nothing at the moment.

School, School, and more School.

Thanksgiving, of course. And all the fun that comes with the Holiday Season.

We're on Season 4 of Chicago Fire and can't get enough.

I finally finished this book a few weeks ago and it was so good y'all. It took me a little while to get into it because I wasn't making the time to read, but I sat down one Saturday and finished the last 3/4 of the book that day.

Give me all the Christmas music. I've had this station along with a few other Christmas stations from Pandora on repeat.

I'm still loving my flare jeans.

My vests have been on repeat this month as well...
I got this Patagonia vest for Christmas last year and have been wearing it non-stop. Although I didn't get a picture, it was perfect for our trip to the mountains last weekend.

I got this Monogrammed Herringbone vest from Marley Lilly a few years ago and still get so much wear out of it. It's currently on sale if you're interested.

This is the one outfit picture I actually remembered to snap while we were in the Smoky's. You can find the sweater here and the vest here. Both are 50% right now, and under $20!

We have a couple Thanksgiving dinners this weekend with Chase's side of the family. I'm also hoping to get a majority of my Christmas shopping done.

We have SO much to look forward to next month. Chase and I started going to the Opryland Hotel in Nashville to eat, shop, and look at all the lights/decorations a few years ago and I look forward to it every year. We're also planning to visit a lights display or two again this year. Last year we went to Chad's Winter Wonderland, but I'm thinking we may go somewhere different this year. And of course we're looking forward to all of the time spent with family during this time of year.

I hope y'all have the BEST Thanksgiving!

What We've Been Up To

Happy Tuesday y'all! I'm heading back to school today after a much needed 3-day weekend. Last week was such a fun/busy week filled with our school's annual trick-or-treating night, class Halloween parties, club day for students, and then the aftermath of all the excitement from the beginning of the week. This teacher was WORN out after all the craziness from last week. Needless to say, a 3-day weekend couldn't have come at a more perfect time. It's crazy how an extra day off makes such a HUGE difference. I'm ready to take on this 4-day work week.

Here's a little look at what we've been up to lately...

Last Sunday Chase and I were in our friends' wedding. Unfortunately the only pictures I have are the ones that my MIL took that night.

We took advantage of the photo booth. ;)

Monday night our school hosted its annual Roar-O-Ween, the event is similar to a Fall Festival, except teachers stand in the hallways and hand out candy while students trick-or-treat, and students can go to the library and gym for bounce houses and games. My team and I had so much fun dressing up as "Social Butterflies."

I "stole" the next few pictures from my cousin and sister's snapchat stories Friday night...
Friday evening my sister and I headed to the Glow Green 5K for Kidney Disease Awareness, where we met my cousin, grandmother, and aunt. This entire event was put on for my Aunt who just underwent a kidney transplant a few weeks ago. We are SO thankful that they were able to find a donor for her.

I was thankful to have my sweet sister as my partner for my first 5K.

My aunt wasn't able to take part in the 5K since she's still recovering from her transplant, but she stuck around to see everyone pass through the finish line.

Saturday my SIL and I headed to TN to do a little shopping at the Red River Farms Fall Barn Sale. I didn't get any pictures, but we had the BEST time and spent way too much. When I got home Saturday afternoon I napped and then literally spent the rest of the night finishing up a book. Once I started reading I just couldn't put it down.

This was my view Sunday morning on our way to church. One of my absolute favorite parts of fall. The leaves were gorgeous, the picture really doesn't do them justice.

And then when we stopped by Starbucks before church, I got a little too excited about my Christmas Cup. It took everything I had in me not to come home and put my tree up on Sunday night. It WILL be going up next weekend though. ;)

We had a little brunch at one of our favorite spots. I came home and napped, and we spent the rest of our Sunday watching Chicago Fire. Y'all we are OBSESSED with this show. I have to admit that it felt pretty darn good going to bed Sunday night and not having to set my alarm.

I slept in a a little on Monday morning, and ended up getting up around the time Chase left for work. Monday was gloomy and cold so I spent the day cuddled up on the couch catching up on some of my shows. I did a little laundry, got dinner started in the slow-cooker, napped, and started a new book. It was a pretty perfect day.

I'm super thankful for a slow weekend, full of rest. Maybe even a little too much rest, considering I napped every.single.day. I'm not even ashamed. ;)
